The short version: the calculator runs entirely in your browser, nothing you type is sent anywhere, and there are no accounts because there is nothing to hold an account for.
Who is responsible
The data controller is [LEGAL NAME OF YOUR BUSINESS], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Contact: hello@thetaxcut.com.
What the calculator does with your figures
Nothing leaves your device. Prices, costs, volumes, ad spend and return rates you enter are processed in your browser's memory and are never transmitted to us, never logged and never stored on any server. Closing the tab discards them. We could not retrieve them if we wanted to.
Cookies
The calculator itself sets no cookies. If you buy Pro or sign in, the shop sets the session and cart cookies WooCommerce needs to know who you are — these are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for, and they are what the site reads to decide whether Pro is unlocked. Stripe may set cookies of its own on the payment step for fraud prevention.
No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party embeds beyond the web font served by Google Fonts.
Third parties that do receive data
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Your card or wallet details, name, email and billing country, at checkout only. | Stripe processes the payment as our payment processor. Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe's own fields and never reach our server — we see only the last four digits and the outcome. |
| Our shop (WooCommerce, on this domain) | Name, email, billing address, order history and a password you choose. | To create your account, attach Pro to it, issue your invoice and account for the tax due. This data stays on our own hosting; it is not sold, rented or shared for marketing. |
| Google Fonts | Your IP address and browser, when fonts load. | Typography. If you prefer to avoid this, the fonts can be self-hosted — see the note below. |
| [YOUR HOST, e.g. Hostinger] | Standard web server logs, which may include IP address, and are retained by the host under its own policy. | Serving the website. |
Analytics
[If you enable analytics, describe it here. The site ships with optional Plausible support, which is cookieless and stores no personal data and no IP addresses. If analytics.plausibleDomain in the configuration is left empty — as it is by default — no analytics of any kind run.]
We do not operate a mailing list. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it.
Legal basis and your rights
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (processing your purchase and providing Pro), legal obligation (keeping invoices and accounting for VAT) and legitimate interest (keeping the site running and secure). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your personal data, and to object to processing. Because the calculator holds nothing about you, such requests concern only your account and order records. Write to us and we will act within one month. Note that invoices cannot be erased before the retention period below has expired, because we are legally required to keep them.
You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In France, that is the CNIL.
Retention
Your account is kept while it exists. Invoices and order records are kept for the period required by accounting and tax law in [YOUR JURISDICTION] — in France that is ten years. Deleting your account does not delete invoices already issued, for that reason.
Children
The Service is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
Changes are reflected in the date at the top of this page.
A note on the fonts
Google Fonts is the one third party that sees a request from every visitor, including those who never buy anything. If you would rather it did not, download the two families, place them in /assets/fonts/, replace the stylesheet link in each page with a local @font-face block, and delete this section along with the Google Fonts row above.
