The short version: the calculator runs entirely in your browser, nothing you type into it is ever sent to us, and the free tier needs no account and no email. We only collect personal information when you buy The Tax Cut Pro or write to us.
Who is responsible
This Privacy Policy describes how AKHIM LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company located at 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States (“AKHIM LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares personal information in connection with the website thetaxcut.com and The Tax Cut Pro (the “Service”). For any privacy question, contact us at hello@thetaxcut.com (subject line: “Privacy”).
What the calculator does with your figures
Nothing leaves your device. Prices, costs, volumes, ad spend, and return rates you enter are processed in your browser’s memory and are never transmitted to us, never logged, and never stored on any server. Closing the tab discards them. We could not retrieve them if we wanted to.
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you purchase The Tax Cut Pro through our shop, we collect your name, email address, billing address, and a password you choose, and we keep a record of your order. When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
Payment information. Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your full card number is entered directly into Stripe’s fields and never reaches our servers; we receive only the transaction outcome and the last four digits.
Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page or file is requested, which may include your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time. The shop uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your cart. See our Cookie Policy.
What we do not collect. We do not collect the figures you type into the calculator, we do not require an account to use the free tier, we do not run advertising or tracking pixels, and we do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, or other sensitive personal information.
How we use information
- To create and maintain your account and provide access to The Tax Cut Pro;
- To process your payment, issue receipts, and account for any tax due;
- To provide customer support and respond to your messages;
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and troubleshoot;
- To comply with our legal, accounting, and tax obligations;
- To enforce our Terms of Use and protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
Service providers and disclosures
We share personal information only with the service providers that make the Service work, and only as needed for them to perform their function on our behalf:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe, Inc. | Your card or wallet details, name, email, and billing country, at checkout. | To process the payment as our payment processor. Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe’s fields and never reach our servers. |
| Our shop (WooCommerce, on this domain) | Name, email, billing address, order history, and your chosen password. | To create your account, attach Pro to it, issue your receipt, and keep our records. This data stays on our own hosting and is not sold or rented. |
| Hostinger (hosting provider) | Standard web-server logs, which may include IP address, retained under the host’s own policy. | To serve the website and shop. |
| Google Fonts | Your IP address and browser, when fonts load. | Typography. This is the only third party that receives a request from every visitor. |
We may also disclose personal information when required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, or property of AKHIM LLC or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.
Analytics
The Service ships with optional support for Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and stores no personal data and no IP addresses. If the analytics setting is left empty — as it is by default — no analytics of any kind run. If we enable it, we will update this Policy.
Email and marketing
We do not operate a marketing mailing list. Emails we send are transactional — receipts, account notices, and replies to your messages. If we ever send a promotional email, it will comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and will include an unsubscribe link that we will honor promptly.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. We keep order and transaction records for as long as required by applicable U.S. accounting and tax law, which is generally up to seven (7) years. Deleting your account does not delete records we are legally required to keep. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including HTTPS across the site and payment handling by a PCI-DSS-compliant processor. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your U.S. privacy rights
Depending on where you live, U.S. state privacy laws may give you some or all of the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you:
- Know / access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
- Delete — request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
- Portability — receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format;
- Opt out — opt out of the sale of personal information or of targeted advertising (note: we do neither);
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the rights above, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — which we do not do. California’s “Shine the Light” law also lets you request information about disclosures for third-party direct marketing; we make no such disclosures.
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws. You have the applicable rights above and, where provided by your state’s law, the right to appeal a decision we make about your request.
How to exercise your rights. Email hello@thetaxcut.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” So that we protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity — typically by confirming you control the email address associated with your account or order. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. We will respond within the time your state’s law requires (generally 45 days, extendable where permitted).
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not track visitors across websites or serve targeted advertising, we do not change our practices in response to a “Do Not Track” browser signal. Where required by law, we treat a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out request.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), if we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us.
Where your information is processed
We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed here, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
Third-party links
The Service links to third-party websites (for example, platform fee pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; their policies govern your use of them.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be highlighted on the site. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
